Fire Retardant Filter Media
UAF’s core filter media platforms are available in fire retardant formulations, so flame safety doesn’t require a separate product line or a compromise on filtration performance.
Quadrafoam™ is an open-cell polyurethane foam specially coated for improved fire retardation and fungi resistance, offering deep loading capacity, high dust-holding capability, and low airflow resistance across a wide range of climates. It’s a cleanable, permanent media suited to industrial enclosure applications.
Polyester Media is a non-woven, non-migrating synthetic media rated up to 90% ASHRAE dust arrestance. It’s listed UL 94 HF-1 and UL 900 Class 2, making it a disposable, high-performance option for electronics, telecom, and medical equipment where a lightweight, low-pressure-drop media is preferred.

PyroCide Vent Panel — Active Fire Containment
Where filtration alone isn’t enough, PyroCide Vent Panels add an active layer of fire containment to the enclosure itself. PyroCide is an aluminum honeycomb thermal barrier treated with a heat-responsive intumescent flame coating. Under normal conditions, it behaves like any low-resistance honeycomb vent panel — maximizing airflow while air-straightening. When exposed to flame or excessive heat, the coating reacts and expands rapidly, filling the honeycomb cells with foam that blocks flame propagation through the vent.
PyroCide is fabricated with precision metal frames and housings to meet edge-to-edge venting requirements, even in intricate enclosure designs, and the coating itself carries an ASTM E-84 Class A rating with low flame spread and low smoke index values.
CableVent™ — Fire-Safe Cable Pass-Through
Cable entry and exit points are a common gap in enclosure fire protection — traditional cable brushes don’t address flame safety at all. CableVent™ closes that gap. It’s a fully customizable foam cable pass-through system built with UL94 V-0 and HF-1 rated polyurethane foam, engineered to replace rigid cable brush assemblies with a solution that manages airflow, dust ingress, and cable strain relief simultaneously.
CableVent is available in two foam configurations — closed-cell for a tight seal that blocks airflow, or open-cell where additional airflow and dust filtration are needed — and both are rated for a minimum 10-year service life in standard operating conditions. It fits vertical, horizontal, or curved enclosure surfaces without additional mounting hardware, and is used across telecom, data center, military, and medical equipment.
