Basket Air Filters

Extended Surface Area filters provide optimal cooling for compact enclosures

UAF 3-Dimensional (Basket) air filters are the ideal solution to provide additional air intake area to provide the increased air flow and reduced resistance needed for the cooling of compact telecommunications platforms. UAF’s 3-D Basket Filters help designers of compact, 1U to 4U, telecom and networking enclosures to keep the system in thermal equilibrium (or thermally positive) while maintaining the stringent requirements of the Telcordia NEBS GR-63 standards. UAF 3-D Basket filters can also be used Medical and Military electronics equipment. Adding depth to an electronics enclosure air filter can provide up to 4 times more air flow than typical flat panel air filters while reducing impedance by up to 50%. This means additional air flow for system cooling, lower fans speeds for less noise, and lower initial resistance for increased filter service intervals.  UAF 3-D Basket air filters can be designed to meet unique system architecture and UAF’s patented CableVentTM cable management system can be added to allow cables/wires to be effectively routed behind the filter preventing air bypass and dust ingress.

Quadrafoam™ filter media is available in all frame models in various pore sizes (10 through 80 PPI Gray and Black).
– Quadrafoam II™ filter media is available in all frame models in various pore sizes (10 through 45 PPI Gray and Black).
Unifoam filter media is available in all frame models in various pore sizes (10 through 80 PPI Black).

Quadrafoam™ / Quadrafoam II™ are open cell polyurethane foams specially coated to provide a UL 94 HF‑1 flame safety rating, fungus resistance, and UV radiation resistance. Quadrafoam media provides depth loading, high dust holding capacity, and low air flow resistance for use in wide range of electronic cooling applications.

Unifoam is an open cell polyurethane foam specially formulated to provide maximum air flow and meet UL 900 Classification. The random arrangement of strands and

UAF 3-D Basket filters are a specially engineered version our Windowpane air filters with an innovative “frame-n-pane” design that integrates the frame and a series of reinforcing intermediates that provide media support. Basket filters are customized to fit the equipment’s unique architecture using an extended surface area design for more air flow, lower pressure drop, and increased service life. UAF’s patented CableVentTM cable management system can be added to allow cables/wires to be effectively routed behind the filter preventing air bypass and dust ingress.

Frames can be constructed from aluminum, CRS, or stainless sheet punched and formed to fit each unique application. Basket filter frames can utilize custom handles/flanges, captive fasteners, and powdercoating or corrosion resistant finishes can be added.
