Universal Air Filter Co., a leading designer of customized air filters for communications and industrial electronic equipment, has added new metal fabrication capabilities to manufacture its latest, most sophisticated air filter frames and components.
The heart of the department is new Strippit® turret punch presses and brake presses that integrate with automated adhesive dispensing and assembly workstations. SolidWorks CAD/CAM compatibility, utilizing 3-D modeling design software, provides the new fabrication system with the exacting specification guidelines and automated machine control necessary to produce components of the highest innovative design and quality.
Universal’s new, in-house precision metal fabrication capability means lower costs for complicated air filter units and increased efficiencies for the company. “One of the immediate results of bringing this new department on-line is faster turnaround times for all air filter types, including much more complicated air filter designs such as Windowpane and FlexFrame units,” says Todd Deibel, president of Universal Air Filter Co. “It ensures our ability to supply customers with prototypes quickly, which can be critical to electronics equipment design engineers.”
Universal Air Filter products meet the following standards and classifications: MIS 20189E; UL 94 HF-1; UL 900, CE; Telcordia NEBS GR-78-CORE and GR-63-CORE; and FMVSS 302. Prototypes are routinely produced and sent to customers quickly.
