The new Dual EMI Honeycomb air filter provides superior shielding against electromagnetic interference and is specially designed for electronicstelecom and datacom, and military electronics equipment.

The filter performs three distinct functions:

  1. EMI/RFI shielding with positive grounding.
  2. Air straightening for maximum cooling efficiency.
  3. High dust arrestance with low pressure drop.

The Universal Dual Honeycomb air filter reduces EMI/RFI noise by using a honeycomb structure which provides “cells” that are designed to reflect and absorb EMI noise. The honeycomb pattern maintains minimal airflow impedance, and provides a “straightening” effect for even air distribution.  In addition, an EMI shielding gasket is installed around the frame perimeter. The gasket ensures full conductivity of the frame to the equipment.  Moreover, the filter is available with a an EMI shielding stainless steel mesh for further EMI/RFI attenuation.

 The Dual Honeycomb air filter also offers these benefits:

Quadrafoam filter media is available in all frame models in various pore sizes (25 through 45 PPI Green and 10 through 80 PPI Gray and Black).

Quadrafoam II filter media is available in all frame models in various pore sizes (10 through 45 PPI Gray and Black).

Unifoam filter media is available in all frame models in various pore sizes (25 through 45 PPI Green and 10 through 80 PPI Black).

Quadrafoam and Quadrafoam II are open cell polyurethane foams specially coated to provide a UL 94 HF-1 flame safety rating, fungus resistance, and UV radiation resistance. They feature deep loading, high dust holding capacity and low air flow resistance for use in extremely wide climatic conditions.

Unifoam is an open cell polyurethane foams specially formulated to provide a UL 900 flame resistant additive.  The random arrangement of strands and pores make this a filter media with tremendous dust-holding capacity and arrestance.

Roll formed into a strong sturdy one-piece channel, using 0.025″ thick (0.032” thick for FF-2X), 3000 series aluminum. Frame is tightly fitted to filter media and fastened with an aluminum rivet. The UL listing, model number and air flow direction are roll imprinted into the frame. Part number is metal stamped into frame for quick, accurate identification.

In addition to the standard roll formed frame design, more custom options are also available.  The Windowpane filter design allows for a customized, aluminum “frame-n-pane” design that integrates the frame and a series of crossing, reinforcing intermediates that provide media support. 

Expanded on our specially designed Uni-Grid equipment, using .040″ thick, 3000 series aluminum. Uni-Grid expanded aluminum is approximately 85% open to maximize air flow. Quadrafoam and Quadrafoam II filters use Uni-Grid support on one or both sides.
