EMI Vent Panels Meet Thermal Management & EMI-Shielding Requirements
EMI shielding and thermal management requirements in indoor and outdoor applications can be met with attractive, one-piece, low-cost EMI Vent Panels from Universal Air Filter (www.uaf.com).
An aluminum honeycomb diffuser, to reduce high levels of electromagnetic interference (EMI), is combined with a decorative aluminum bezel into one integrated, low-cost assembly. The aluminum honeycomb is ideal for optimum cooling because of negligible airflow resistance. The vents offer EMI shielding on enclosure exhaust and air intake areas. Free airflow is maximized with approximately 85% open, square or hex pattern perforations in the diffuser. Louvered design vent panels, fitted on the air intake side, can be designed to channel airflow in specific directions or shed water. Vent panels can be equipped with screen or media to remove larger particulate debris and eliminate mist.
Used as part of many outdoor Vent Panels are air filters made of Quadrafoam™ and Quadrafoam II™ filter media that comply with requirements of Telcordia GR-487-CORE for flame, fungus and corrosion resistance. This combination will meet stringent flame safety requirements of UL 94 with a zero fungus growth rating. Metal components can be treated with special RoHS-compliant finishes for corrosion protection. Quadrafoam™ and Quadrafoam II™ are rated UL 94 HF-1. They are cleanable and reusable, and available in black, gray or green. Both products feature increased dust-holding capacity and low air resistance. Quadrafoam II is ideal for prolonged exposure to high temperature, high moisture, and other harmful elements. Products with Quadrafoam II™ air filters have been environmentally tested to withstand dust intrusion and wind driven rain, as detailed in GR-487-CORE.
Universal Air Filter products meet the following standards and classifications: UL 94 HF-1; UL 900, CE; Telcordia NEBS GR-78-CORE and GR-63-CORE; and RoHS Compliance. When used as part of a fire enclosure, they also may be configured to comply with flame-drip requirements described in UL 60950 and EN 60950.
A free, round-the-clock prototype service is available to design engineers worldwide at www.uaf.com. The Internet-submitted prototype request form, or a quick phone call, fax or e-mail, is generally all it takes to get the necessary information so the custom prototype can be produced and shipped within five working days.
